Lowrance HDS - Inanda Dam
2010 Aug 07
Once again, sticking to the plan of not putting a line in the water until bass were spotted on the sonar paid off.
A good example of not 'Fishing the Spot', but rather 'Fishing the Fish' was with this big submerged tree. After getting a good fish right in the tree, and then returning later to attempt repeating the morning's success - I found that I had to rather move a little off the tree and target the fish nearby.
My son Alex joined me in the afternoon and we applied the same theory but on another part of the dam.
We drove over the trees and channel ledges but there was nothing, so we headed for the rocky humps – and there they were.
We immediately dropped lines on to them and we both got a nice keeper. We repeated this on some more rocks further on and got some more nice keepers.
I returned the following morning with a first time bass angler as my guest, and on his first cast got a bass. He got several more after that too – he was a very happy chap.
