The new boat features a stunning radar arch complete with Lowrance Broadband radar and is fitted with an HDS-8 fish finder and GPS combination unit. Powered by 2 X 115HP Mercury outboard motors this stunning craft made light of the surf launch on her first outing, cutting through the waves with ease.
Congratulations to Highveld Marines Dries Marx - winner of the OET 2009 fishing competition! His magnificent 300.2kg Marlin - makes him the proud new owner of a brand new Mallards 630 Cobra Cat with 2 X 115 Mercury Optimax motors worth close to R500 000! Dries and his crew made good use of his Lowrance LCX112 fish finder with Broadband to bag this catch (at a depth of 700m) near the lighthouse, just 30 minutes after launching at 5.30am on lucky Friday the 13th (Nov)! Dean Pretorius of Port Edward caught this rare Bowmouth Guitarfish shore fishing off well-known Splash Rock, using a dead bait (1/2 a yellowfin Tuna) and a Green multiblink Esca.
